HEL focuses on women empowerment prioritizing women at the bottom of the social pyramid and developing capacities for higher and sustainable income. Different skill development training programs are also regularly organized to upgrade their existing traditional skills and simultaneously promote new skills through the Project Nabo Diganta. Self help groups have been established with a proper supply chain to the market.
In the recent past, with the program “Adopt a Home” more than 20 destitute women residing in 'SWADHAR GRIHA' have acquired tailoring skills and with financial support from HEL,started their tailoring units. The program aims to rehabilitate these destitute women back to their normal life with dignity.
” to build awareness among girls and women regarding social problems like child abuse,trafficking and child marriage. The project aims at involving 104 schools in 22 blocks in East Medinipur district. Awareness programs on gender parity, sexual harassment, domestic violence and legal rights are also conducted to increase awareness & confidence building.
